From the moment we arrived at L’Imperator Maison Albar we knew we had chosen the right hotel for our stay in Nimes. This is an EXCEPTIONAL 5-star hotel and has truly set the benchmark for luxury and hospitality. Every detail of our stay was meticulously catered to, making it a very memorable experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very warm welcome from GM Romaric Blanvillain. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were shown around the beautiful facilities and on to our room by the charming Rievelinio. The hotel combines class, elegance and warmth, with beautiful interior decor and clever use of space and architecture. The pool is heavenly - in fact there are two pools to choose from, an indoor pool next to the spa and an outdoor pool with plenty of sun loungers and peace and quiet. By the pool we were looked after by Quentin with an impressive level of courtesy and efficiency. Breakfast was wonderful (thanks to Natalie and Romane) and served in a calm setting, with the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. What truly sets L’Imperator apart is the exceptional service provided by the team and the way they make guests feel. Many hotels try to be hospitable because that is their job, they are ‘paid to smile’, but the Albar staff are happy to be there and show genuine care for each guest- even remembering guests names when greeting them. Special mention to the Hero’s Pierre and Benjamin, who both went above and beyond in their assistance and care. And the exceptional Fabien (so speedy) Tristan and Frederic, Kaoutar, Doriane, Karla, Clara, Maxime, Imrane, Sabah and Claire. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a truly exceptional stay. We have already re-booked to stay again…it is worth visiting Nimes just to stay at L’Imperator.

This is one of the nicest hotels where we have stayed in France. In fact, I would rated in the top 10 of our visit almost 50 countries. The hotel itself is beautiful in the old style, but with modern touches. The room was very comfortable and housekeeping cleaned up every day. most of the staff with whom we were spoken English and went out of their way to make sure we are enjoying our stay. The hotel has a spa and two pools: indoor and outdoor, but we didn’t get a chance to use those hotel is very well located parking cost about €35 a night, but you could drop your car off at the hotel (It might be a good idea to call the front desk when you’re about two minutes away so the concierge can come out and keep cars behind you from blocking your ability to back into a temporary parking place. From there, they would take it to a secure garage. Whenever we needed the car, it would be ready in a few minutes. I think breakfast cost €30 but I can’t remember but the food and service was excellent. Although some mornings we walked across the street to a patisserie for coffee and a croissant. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

The welcome was exceptional. Pierre on Reception was very helpful at all times. On arrival we had our bags whisked away to be stored by reception whilst we checked in. We were shown to comfy seating in reception, brought cold drinks and Pierre checked us in as we sat comfortably. A great start to our stay, and made one feel very welcome. The bedroom was extremely quiet despite being opposite the lift and overlooking the terrace area. All the staff were really helpful and polite. We had an email during our stay asking for feedback and we replied mentioning a couple of issues. The duty manager sought us out on the terrace the next morning as we were about to leave, to apologise. We assume they had asked to be notified by Reception when we were there. We really liked the staff service. All the staff were so nice.

It was windy and rainy when we traveled that day to Nîmes and we didn’t expect much, but on our arrival we found sunshine in the staff eyes. Very kind and helpful in any ways and at any time from receptionist to house keeping. The Spa steam room was clean and at perfect temperature eventhough it was early afternoon and just two of us. In the the evening we didn’t want to go out and the barman enchanted our stay with a fantastic Dry Martini composed with local french gin and vermouth and a few tapas. Next day we went for city sightseeing and we received good information on the main city spots (always buy a full visit’s ticket which lasts 3 days) Will return again .

Andrea

We loved the location! We really enjoyed the outside lounging area. The staff were very attentive to serving you and focused on all the details. We can’t comment on the spa as we never visited it. One moment that is worth highlighting, is that when it was time to depart the hotel to catch our train, we had asked concierge to order us a taxi and they kindly did. Unfortunately, the taxi was quite delayed due to being stuck in a traffic jam so the head of the front desk arranged to have one of the hotel chauffeurs take us to the station in the luxury hotel vehicle free of charge! I would recommend staying here.
